How we met
During a raucous charity trivia night, a rogue microphone began to feedback uncontrollably, threatening to ruin the evening. As the screeching echo became nearly unbearable, Marc, who was about to make his team’s final, potentially winning announcement, froze in distress. Kara, quick on her feet, leapt from her seat, dashed through the crowd, and expertly adjusted the audio settings, silencing the chaos and saving the day. The crowd erupted in applause, not just for the restored peace, but for her heroics.
Just kidding—like many others, they actually met on a dating app for single parents, and their real first date was attending a much less dramatic, but enchanting and fun trivia night together. (We came in second)
“After talking on the phone into the wee hours for over a week, we had our first date. Marc had to pick our trivia team name and I had to guess which one it was as they read them off. As soon as they read it, I laughed hysterically and instantly knew that was it. We talked and laughed throughout the night, building upon the nervous excitement of really connecting with each other.
My quote to a girlfriend who asked how my date went:
‘It was soooo awesome. Yeah, like he’s great. We have a lot in common. He’s funny as f***. Super, ridiculously smart. And such a gentleman. And remembers the little things. So far, so good. Not rushing, but love where it’s going.’
Even back then I knew it was special. The butterflies that I had that night still stick around to this day. I look forward to every surprise date night, every spontaneous outing, every lightsaber, every Nike drop, every Stitch Fix fashion show, every eggs benny breakfast, every strawberry marg night at el tio and on and on. Every day with you by my side is an adventure.”

The Proposal
In the revolving Top of the World restaurant atop the Stratosphere Hotel in Las Vegas, Marc planned an unforgettable proposal for Kara. As they enjoyed the breathtaking views and exquisite dinner, a magician wandered over to their table, charming them with spectacular card tricks. For his grand finale, the magician meticulously arranged the cards in a circle, like a clock, on their table. With a flourish, he tapped one card, handing it to Marc with a knowing smile.
As Marc took the card, he slid off his chair and onto one knee before Kara. He presented the card to her, which read, "Will you marry me?" Kara, completely taken by surprise and moved by the romantic setup amidst the sparkling backdrop of Las Vegas, tearfully, and foolishly nodded her yes. The moment was magical, sealed with applause from the nearby diners who had paused to watch the heartwarming scene unfold.
“From the moment I first met Kara, I knew there was something extraordinary about her. Our first date wasn't just an evening out; it was the beginning of a journey. She had this remarkable way of seeing the world that completely captivated me. A year later, I found myself proposing, eager to spend every subsequent adventure at her side.”
